Cindy Shales is a Metis artist currently based in London, Ontario. Her artistic journey began in 2022, and since then, painting has become her passion. Her ancestry comes from the Red River Settlement in Manitoba, while her father was born in Wakaw, Saskatchewan. Cindy’s creations draw inspiration from nature and the outdoors, and she often participates in online paint nights with Moses Lunham. Though many of her pieces are original, she also enjoys exploring new techniques and styles through virtual classes to help develop her skills. Through her art, Cindy seeks to connect with her roots and express her unique perspective as a Metis woman.
