Micheal Yates

My interest in photography started when I was 15.  It further developed when I met a gentleman named Bud Johnson from Owen Sound Ontario.

He was a mentor and a great inspiration to my interest in the art.

My first serious camera was a Pentax Spotmatic 500.  Since then I have had various cameras but now depend on my Canon's  50-D and 6-D.

I studied for two years at Fanshawe College (1974-1975) in London Ontario. Sadly, I was unable to secure a profession in photography and worked in a totally

different career.

In 2004 the photographic ember ignited in me once again and with encouragement from family and friends I started into the digital realm of the art and profession.

I now consider myself as a professional amateur.

What my future and expectations hold for me in photography remains a mystery.  It is such a learning curve.  I enjoy the art,the people I have met and hope you

enjoy what I have to offer.

I’m a member of The Oxford Creative Connections Inc. I’ve participated in the London Fringe Visual Exhibit, I’ve had a few exhibits and also participate in the large

car show at the Plunkett Estate for three years.

My interests vary from landscapes to abstract.  I will do commissioned work along with natural light portraits of babies, children, new moms, family and individual

portraits. I do custom car photography also.

I encourage you to visit my website and see more of my work.

I truly believe, you can have all the equipment in the world to work with but the actual outcome derives deep within your own heart and soul.
